Compassionate therapy for first-time mothers experiencing anxiety or fear surrounding labor and delivery and women healing from traumatic birth experiences.

I'm a licensed independent clinical social worker. I’m most passionate about supporting first‑time mothers experiencing anxiety or fear surrounding childbirth and women healing from birth trauma.
From my personal experience with childbirth-related anxiety and fear, I understand how distressing these feelings can be, and with understanding and support, healing becomes possible.
My clinical training and personal experience, informs the compassionate and nonjudgmental therapy I provide.
With therapeutic support, you may regulate your nervous system, process traumatic memories, feel more grounded and strengthen communication of your needs.
You do not have to navigate these experiences alone. I offer in-person counseling in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, and virtually throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Your story matters. Your feelings are valid. Compassionate support is available.
Are you a first-time mother feeling anxious or fearful about childbirth?
You may feel anxious when thinking or talking about birth, distressed before OB-GYN appointments, or panicked when imagining labor and delivery.
These feelings can leave you feeling isolated or different from those around you.
I provide a compassionate, safe space where you can explore your anxiety and fear without judgment.
Using EMDR, an evidence-based therapy, we can work together to process past experiences that may be contributing to your anxiety and fear.
Using EMDR and supportive therapy, we can work together to help you approach childbirth feeling more grounded and empowered.
After a traumatic birth, you may be having nightmares and flashbacks, feel constantly on high alert or emotionally numb.
These reactions can feel frightening and isolating.
I provide a compassionate, safe space where you can begin processing your experience at your own pace.
Using EMDR, an evidence-based therapy, we can work together to support healing.
Equine-Assisted EMDR combines EMDR therapy with equine-assisted interventions to support nervous system regulation.
This approach is available for individuals' experiencing anxiety or fear surrounding childbirth and those healing from birth trauma.
This approach is also available as a supportive service for individuals already working with another EMDR therapist who would benefit from additional grounding and resourcing skills.
For many people, spending time outdoors in the presence of a horse can facilitate a sense of calm, safety, and connection that supports the therapeutic process.
No riding or previous horse experience is required.
